Resolved Question: First Vacation.. Car Rental and Hotel seems EXPENSIVE! Is this about right?

Its looking like from a Friday to the next Saturday (8 days) we are spending about 400 on car rental, and probably close to 600 in hotel costs. 1000 just for a car and a place to stay?! It seems so expensive! Good thing I got a decent deal on airline tickets. (2 roundtrip from California to Pittsburgh for $530 total) Does this sound about right? Also.. Advise on this would be great! We need to stay in hometown (Steubenville, OH) Friday night, then 2 nights at a hotel in Pittsburgh (Saturday and Sunday) then Monday in Steubenville, then Tuesday night to Cleveland to visit mom, then Wednesday through Friday night, need to stay in Steubenville again.
